Junior High sweethearts, Ally + Kory’s Summerhill Pyramid Winery wedding in Kelowna was perfect! From the moment we met Ally + Kory we knew this day was going to be loads of fun, and it obviously did not disappoint. The day was filled with anticipation and laughter and tears and excitement.
Around every corner of the day we found each detail dripping with meaning and thoughtfulness. From the display of Ally’s grandmother’s wedding dress alongside her mother’s wedding dress and her own, to the garter that belonged to her grandfather of which he claimed to have “gotten from a wench”, to the grandfather’s compass Kory carried with him this day, there was so much rich symbolism and meaning for Ally and Kory. Even Ally’s veil had belonged to her grandmother.
The morning was filled with gift giving and receiving, extra hugs, and secret handshakes. Ally and her ladies got ready at Ally’s mother’s home in Kelowna, while the men got ready at the classy Hotel Eldorado in Kelowna.
As the ceremony began with live music on the guitar, Kory couldn’t wait to see his bride. As Ally peaked out the window as Kory walked down the aisle, her anticipation grew. The moment they locked eyes with each other the tears just began pouring down their cheeks, as this couple having been together essentially their entire lives were ready to tie their lives together in the bonds of marriage. The ceremony was lead by Ally’s uncle, and it held extra special meaning, with legal representation by Marjolein Lloyd.
After a triple saboring ceremony where the men of the family got to wield a sword, cocktail hour began as we whisked the couple away for bridal party and couples portraits.
Dinner began, as the golden sun beamed through the beautiful reception area with beautiful white drapery by Stage Right. We love it when couples allow time to mingle before main events and games begin for the evening. The best candids are taken in this hour, and if we luck out and have enough time, we even get to sneak our couple out for a golden hour portrait session in the vines. Something about the smoke in the air made these golden hour photos extra beautiful. No light is more romantic than golden hour, and it was made extra dreamy on Ally + Kory’s wedding day.
This night was filled with the most touching speeches, the funnest games, and the sweets on the sweets table that Sugar Sweet Cake Company created were buttery and delicious. As soon as the dancing began Dwayne Mollin Music got the party rocking. And let me tell you… Kory and Ally’s friends and family know how to celebrate!
We hope you enjoy our photos as much as we enjoyed capturing every tiny detail of Ally + Kory’s day.
We pray your marriage is filled with the richest of blessings, Ally + Kory!
