Coming from Edmonton, Meg and Frank celebrated their Kelowna Destination Wedding at Summerhill Pyramid Winery. This day was everything you would expect a Kelowna vineyard wedding to be, bright and sunny, filled with laughter and beauty and the relaxed and fun atmosphere that we all know and love about Kelowna.
Meg spent the morning getting ready at a vacation rental condo at Playa del Sol Resort with her bridesmaids, mom, and niece. Be sure to check out the bridesmaids’ floral crowns, created by Classic Creations Floral Design. All of these girls have been best friends since they were 5 years old, and danced together growing up. It’s always amazing to see friendships that last decades through childhood and growing up. Frank had Meg’s gift hand-delivered by one of his men, and the gift exchange between the two of them was adorable.
Frank and his men got ready across the street at the lakefront Hotel Eldorado. Frank was full of joy and laughter, and his easy nature just enjoyed the morning. We loved Frank’s reaction to the intimate photo book that Meg gave him as his wedding gift. Frank couldn’t stop smiling all day.
The ceremony, officiated by Anthony Hoek, was lovely and sunny, with a special candle-lighting, honouring Meg’s father who passed away. Filled with the biggest smiles you’ve ever seen, and laughter and joy, and lots of romance, the two vowed their lives to each other. Following the ceremony each of Meg and Frank’s parents, and both Meg and Frank did a 6 bottle saboring of Summerhill’s famous Cipes Brut.
After some mingling and family photos we went on a little walk with the bridal party for portraits of the group as well as romantic couples portraits with Frank and Meg.
The reception was full of laughter and lots of kissing as they asked guests not to clink glasses, but rather take a shot in order for them to kiss. The four course plated dinner was amazing in true Summerhill fashion, and we even had time to sneak Meg and Frank out mid-course to capture that golden Okanagan romantic light for some sunset photos.
The rest of the evening was filled with laughter and tears through touching speeches, and a fun mash-up “First-Dance” that Meg and Frank had choreographed. DJ Alex Bird got everyone out on the dance floor with his amazing talent of reading a crowd, and playing what keeps people dancing. After a bit of dancing the couple meandered over to cut their beautiful cake created by Sweet On You Designer Cups and Cakes, and toss the bouquet and garter.
Congratulations Meg + Frank! Be blessed.
