On the morning of March 16th we woke up at 5am for one of the 3 biggest jobs of our life! We headed to Kelowna General Hospital at 6am for the planned c-section birth of our 3rd baby, Edmund Ryle Barnett! We already had a four year old (Margaret) and a six year old (Elizabeth) in our lil family, so we were just so excited to welcome our little MAN-cub to our family.
At 8:30am we welcomed Edmund Ryle Barnett into this bright and shiny world, and Josh captured an amazing shot as Dr. McGregor lifted him up over the blanket to say hello to us! All 8lbs 8oz and 20.5 inches of pure joy!
We had this amazing Anesthesiologist taking care of me (Carly) who noticed that Josh had brought his camera into the Operating Room, but was needing to hold sweet Edmund close to me, so he (the anesthesiologist) offered to take some pictures with Josh’s camera while they were finishing up. He had a natural talent, and obviously knew how to frame a good shot, and we are so excited about the moments he was able to capture.
The following 3 days we spent at the hospital in Kelowna’s beautiful brand new Perinatal Floor at KGH being thoroughly taken care of by a team of the kindest and sweetest nurses, and our amazing doctors. We were so impressed by the care that we received, and by the peaceful rooms. Thank you to our amazing team of medical care professionals!
Here’s the photo story of our 4 days!
